The "Adult BMI measure" variable was calculated from height and weight variables provided by respondents (if in metric converted to US measurements) using the following equation: BMI= (mass (lbs)*703)/(height (in)^2). Unlike the variable "Adult BMI category," which used this value to categorize individuals as Normal (BMI<25), Overweight (BMI>=25 & BMI<30), and Obese (BMI>=30), "Adult BMI measure" is a continuous variable of the calculated value. The universe for this variable includes all adult respondents age 18 and older. Missing cases include children and adults who did not provide information to calculate BMI.
